Hindustan Zinc concludes IITF 2025 showcase with ‘Zung Ke Khilaaf Zinc’

Hindustan Zinc Limited closed its participation at the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025 with a strong focus on public education through its ‘Zung Ke Khilaaf Zinc’ campaign. Positioned within the Mining Pavilion, the showcase aimed to increase awareness about the importance of galvanization in safeguarding vehicles, infrastructure and day-to-day assets from corrosion. A vintage Priya scooter acted as the installation’s emotional anchor, drawing visitors of all ages and sparking discussions on durability and rust prevention.

The centrepiece featured a split-display scooter, with one half galvanized and the other non-galvanized. The side-by-side comparison was designed to show how zinc galvanization protects metal surfaces from corrosion, making the concept accessible to the general public. The installation highlighted the relevance of galvanization not only for consumer products but also for large-scale infrastructure, emphasising the long-term benefits in safety and structural resilience.

Farida Naik, joint secretary, Ministry of Mines, commended the campaign for offering clear and engaging public outreach. She described the activation as a standout educational element of the Mining Pavilion, translating a technical process into an easy-to-understand demonstration.

Hindustan Zinc also conducted on-ground conversations to assess public awareness of zinc, corrosion and galvanization. More than 2,000 visitors completed a short quiz, providing insights into perceptions of zinc’s role in protecting steel. Overall, the stall recorded more than 1 lakh visitors, underscoring substantial interest in the subject.

Arun Misra, ceo, Hindustan Zinc, said the company aimed to make galvanization simple, visual and relatable. He noted that the response strengthened the case for expanding public understanding of corrosion protection as part of India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat.

Beyond the galvanization display, the exhibit featured RFID-enabled installations on critical minerals, an AR/VR mine tour of the Rampura Agucha Mine and Chanderiya Lead Zinc Smelter, and a product zone showcasing Special High Grade Zinc, 99.997% Pure Silver and EcoZen, along with products from the Sakhi and Upaya programmes.

Hindustan Zinc’s participation reinforced its role in supporting India’s Critical Mineral Mission and promoting durable, sustainable infrastructure solutions.
