Havas's Seguela eyes India as global digital base

Jacques Seguela, founder of Euro RSCG and vice president Havas, was in New Delhi recently to participate in Euro RSCG's Asian region creative seminar. The agency brought together senior creative minds from all of its Asian offices to view, critique and applaud each other's work. Seguela was especially impressed with the advertising coming out of Euro RSCG's India office. "This is the land of the future," he said, adding, "It being a democracy, India has more potential than even China."

Jacques Seguela, founder of Euro RSCG and vice president Havas, was in New Delhi recently to participate in Euro RSCG's Asian region creative seminar. The agency brought together senior creative minds from all of its Asian offices to view, critique and applaud each other's work. Seguela was especially impressed with the advertising coming out of Euro RSCG's India office. "This is the land of the future," he said, adding, "It being a democracy, India has more potential than even China."

When asked what Seguela thought about Indian advertising he commented that unlike the West, in India advertising starts from the heart and goes back to the heart and encompasses all the feelings of intelligence, emotion and materialism. "It is thus more distinctive, reactive, and spontaneous and can carry easily. We are actively eyeing the prospect of our India agency create ads for our global clients."
Euro RSCG plans to nurture India as the digital base that will service both local and global clients. "For this purpose we are looking at a strategic partner for the digital business," added Seguela.
