Hansa Research responds to Mumbai Police accusations

The company has filed a rejoinder in response to Mumbai Police, stating that it 'contains nothing but few denials and unsubstantiated, vague and superficial allegations'

Hansa Research responds to Mumbai Police accusations
Consumer insights company Hansa Research had filed a writ in the Mumbai High Court complaining of Mumbai Police harassment in early November 2020 in the ongoing TRP scam case. The company was accused by the police for aiding and abetting ARG Outlier Media (Republic TV).

Denying every accusation, it has now gone ahead to file a rejoinder in court, in response to the reply filed by Mumbai Police. The rejoinder claims that the Police allegation is nothing but a figment of imagination and that Hansa 'has no interest in any media channel'. It adds that the police cannot compel Hansa to 'implicate or exonerate any channel'.

It also stated that the police reply came from an ACP who has never personally interacted with Hansa, and is not the main respondent against whom the writ was filed. Countering police allegations that the group’s interest in advertising on TV channels was kept hidden from BARC and the police, Hansa claims to have submitted documentary evidence of full disclosure with BARC to the Mumbai Police.

The Mumbai High Court has permitted the police to converse with the Hansa personnel for two days in a week. The next hearing on the case is slated to happen on 26 February 2021 and Hansa has offered full cooperation to the police in their investigation.
