Equitas Small Finance Bank has released New Beginning, a film created under its Beyond Banking initiative that showcases the bank’s efforts to support employment among underserved communities. The film captures real moments of anticipation, nervousness and eventual joy as individuals secure work, reflecting stories of perseverance and empowerment enabled through the bank’s social outreach.
The narrative focuses on EDIT, the bank’s job fair programme designed to connect unemployed youth from disadvantaged backgrounds with employers across multiple sectors. The initiative is supported by more than 50 recruiters to ensure a transparent and credible hiring process. Over the years, the programme has contributed to increased employment and sustained livelihoods by linking candidates to meaningful opportunities.
Vignesh Murali, chief marketing officer and head BOW, Equitas SFB, says: "At Equitas Small Finance Bank, we believe our responsibility extends far beyond banking and making a tangible difference in people’s lives. ‘New Beginnings’ is a reflection of what we truly believe in that real empowerment happens when opportunity meets intent. We continue to invest in people, nurture potential, and through the job fair initiative, provide opportunities for individuals to achieve better livelihoods and a chance at a better future."
The film positions Equitas SFB’s approach as one rooted in social transformation rather than purely financial transactions. According to the bank, its Beyond Banking initiatives have positively impacted more than 3 lakh individuals by enabling renewed confidence and prospects for future growth.
As part of this philosophy, Equitas SFB allocates up to 5 percent of its annual net profit to programmes focused on education, employment, skill training, rehabilitation and healthcare. New Beginning serves as a visual expression of this commitment, reinforcing the bank’s aim to drive socio-economic progress in the communities it serves.
