Cheil Worldwide to sponsor new Spikes Student academy

Spikes Asia has teamed up with Cheil Worldwide to host a dedicated Academy for 15 students from across Asia. The academy, sponsored exclusively by Cheil Worldwide, will be a permanent addition to the festival and offer an educational programme during the three-day event.

Guided by a tutor, Noor Azhar Mohamed, lecturer in Creative Media Design at Singapore Polytechnic, the attempt is to let students benefit from the various festival activities, which include seminars, screenings, exhibitions and workshops. Students will also enjoy their own masterclasses and tutorials given by top international industry figures. The Academy’s activities will culminate in a graduation ceremony.

Nack-Hoi Kim, CEO of Cheil Worldwide, said, “To provide Asian students an opportunity to expand their horizons and to learn from top industry leaders shows our commitment to fostering talent in the region. We hope that the students who have been selected to attend the Spikes Academy will become key industry players not only in Asia, but globally as well. We also hope that all students will leave the Academy feeling inspired and more determined to develop their abilities.”

“We are delighted to work with Cheil Worldwide in launching the Spikes Academy. We are both committed to supporting the future talent of our industry by providing a unique learning opportunity and insight to the business, which will further develop the students’ skills and professionalism and give a good foundation to prosper in their careers,” said Terry Savage, Festival Chairman.

Students in tertiary education studying advertising, marketing and communications in Asia who wish to apply for a position at the Spikes Academy should contact their local official Festival Representative. For details, log on to www.spikes.asia
