Hemen Desai moves as MD, Japan; Avinash Pillai to handle P&G; Ashwini Kamat to head buying; Deepa Jatkar to handle non-P&G businesses

Changes galore at Mediacom

 

Mediacom has announced multiple changes in key senior roles in its Mumbai office.
 
Hemen Desai, managing partner, team P&G, moves to Tokyo as the MD of Mediacom Japan.
 
Avinash Pillai head of buying for Mediacom India, takes Desai’s place and becomes general manager on the P&G business. Pillai has been with the agency for more than two years.
 
Ashwini Kamat head of the non-P&G businesses at Mediacom Bombay (VW Group, HRI, Aegon Religare, Wyeth, Pfizer, Edelweiss etc.), takes over from Pillai as the national buying director.
 
Deepa Jatkar, head of the Volkswagen business takes over from Kamat as the general manager in charge of the non-P&G businesses.
 
On the changes, Debraj Tripathy, MD, Mediacom India, said, “These are very well deserved moves and I wish Hemen, Avinash, Ashwini and Deepa the very best in their new roles.”
 
Hemen Desai’s move as MD of Mediacom Japan comes a week after the announcement of Anita Mookherjee’s move from MediaCom Bangalore to Jakarta as the MD of Mediacom Indonesia.
 
Tripathy added, “This is in line with our endeavor to provide our top performers with bigger opportunities within the Mediacom network. Mediacom India continues to be the grooming ground for some of Mediacom’s best managers in the region.”
