It was a mixed year for Saatchi & Saatchi. While it managed to attract senior talent in the form of Ramanuj Shastry, Sourabh Mishra and Pinaki Bhattacharya, it lost a significant business in Videocon which moved to McCann. It also lost the Mother Diary business. It struggled to retain some key people in its creative team with Shormistha Mukherjee, Suhas Parab moving on from its Mumbai office and Nandu Narasimhan quitting the agency yet again. Earlier in the year, it promoted Sanjib Dey to the post of president and Anand Siva moved on. The India office is looking at significantly upping its creative quotient, a move that resulted in Ramanuj Shastry coming on board. It will be interesting to see how his entry will impact Saatchi’s creative product.
