BBC.com launches new travel website with Lonely Planet

BBC.com has launched its new travel site in collaboration with its sister company Lonely Planet. It also has partners in global territories including Spice Jet in South Asia and Middle East, Hilton in Asia Pacific and Europe, and Emirates in North America.  BBC.com/travel is the first in a series of factual and lifestyle sites, announced last month alongside BBC.com’s redesigned news site and new US edition. It will be led by editorial director David G Allan, who was formerly the editor of NYTimes.com's Travel & Style section.
