Bates141 has brought in Vaasu Gavarasana as executive vice president at its Delhi office to replace the outgoing EVP, Jayanto Banerjee. Gavarasana begins his new assignment on November 30.

Banerjee is moving to an undisclosed agency in the Middle East owning to personal reasons.

Gavarasana moves in from Singapore where he was a new media entrepreneur, prior to which he spent six years at McCann Erickson Singapore. At Bates 141, he will be responsible for overseeing work on the agency’s growing portfolio of brands in Delhi and other special projects. “I am looking forward to working with Sandeep, Sonal and Dheeraj and growing the Bates141 offering in India. It’s an opportunity to usher in the change our brands and people need to grow.”

Talking about Vaasu’s appointment as EVP for the Delhi office, Sandeep Pathak, CEO, Bates141 said, “In Vaasu we found a leader who was not only passionate about the process, but also wanted to make a difference to the product.  His strong advertising and marketing acumen and experience of managing brands across diverse cultures and languages coupled with his entrepreneurial spirit will definitely catapult Bates 141 to newer heights within the Delhi market.”

Vaasu’s experience spans 20 years mostly with McCann Erickson and Lintas working on brands such as Unilever Detergents, Britannia, Timex, Nestle, Johnson & Johnson, MasterCard, Lufthansa and F&N . He was also at TBWA India working closely with TBWA Paris and Singapore to bring the BiC brand to India.
