Tata Sky has rolled out a campaign to promote its recently launched Tata Sky Classic TV service, powered by Shemaroo Entertainment. The film aims to inform viewers that they can now watch their favourite classic shows from the 80s and the 90s on the broadcast provider’s platform.

The film features actor Neena Gupta, who is seen chatting with her friends and reminiscing the television classics. When each of her friends talk about their personal favourite, Neena is upset to learn that none of them feature her. On seeing her sad, one off her friends bring up an old shows she acted in and starts to praise her for her role in the same. She then feels happy and joins the brouhaha with her friends.

Pallavi Puri, chief commercial and content officer, Tata Sky, said, “Tata Sky Classic TV brings back the nostalgia of television from the 80s and 90s with handpicked shows and titles from those decades. This service has been curated in partnership with Shemaroo, who are experts in genres across TV shows and movies and also power Tata Sky Classic Cinema, a popular service that celebrates the richness of vintage Bollywood. Tata Sky has always recognised the appeal of unique and varied content and we believe that Classic TV will bring a whole new facet of entertainment to our viewers and Neena Gupta is the perfect ambassador of this genre and the service.”

Hiren Gada – CEO, Shemaroo Entertainment, said, “Shemaroo has created a strong association with classics, which have the comfort of familiarity, and this has also been indicated by our research that confirms consumers are missing their favourite TV shows of yesteryears. We’re confident that there’s a strong appeal to this service due to the nostalgia factor. We are excited to partner with Tata Sky Classic TV and bolster our longstanding relationship with the brand.”
