Tropicana Slice has rolled out its latest TVC to introduce its newest variant , Tropicana Slice Alphonso. The film titled, ‘The King of Mangoes’ has been conceptualised by J Walter Thompson and features Bollywood actors Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapur.

The film begins with Kaif driving down a scenic road. Intoxicated by a smell, she is seen pulling her car into a mango orchard. She parks her car and plucks one. Unfortunately for her, Kapur slides down a rope (with a bag full of mangoes) and takes away the plucked fruit. He points to a board that reads, ‘private property’.  Kaif distracts him, cuts his bag, and runs to a shed grabbing a mango. She sees crates of Tropicana Slice Alphonso, grabs a crate and drives away as Kapur runs behind the car.

Vidur Vyas, senior director marketing, PepsiCo India, said, “Tropicana Slice has always focused on bringing to consumers new exciting innovations backed by consumer insights, thereby taking the mango indulgence to next level. Last year, we launched Slice varietals - Kesar, Dussehri and Banganapalli, made from three most loved varieties of mangoes and this year we complete the range by launching Alphonso, widely regarded as the king of mangoes. Tropicana Slice Alphonso sources its pulp from handpicked Ratnagiri Alphonso Mangoes. The campaign is supported by an exciting new TVC. We launched the king of mangoes with the queen of Indian hearts Katrina Kaif along with the dashing Aditya Roy Kapur in an interesting cameo. Both have incredible chemistry together and will keep the audience engaged throughout.”

Sumati Singh, executive creative director, J. Walter Thompson, said, “Tropicana Slice has always epitomised the love affair between mangoes and mango lovers. This year we have extended that love affair wherein Katrina is in pursuit of the King of Mangoes – the royal Alphonso! The look and feel for this year’s campaign is very fresh and contemporary, set in a brilliant mango orchard. We are thrilled with this campaign and are confident that Alphonso will add to the legacy of Tropicana Slice, bringing the brand even closer to the consumers’ hearts.”

The film will be seen in Hindi, Bangla, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.

Currently, the new Tropicana Slice Alphonso is available exclusively on Amazon.in, and is expected to hit retail shelves in the next few weeks.
