Nissan gets Zaheer Khan to take the 'Dabbawala challenge'

Watch the activity conceptualised in-house by the Nissan team

Nissan is leveraging its association with the ICC World Cup T20 with an ongoing Nissan Trophy Tour. For the Mumbai leg, the car manufacturer roped in former Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan, and the Fifth Gear (UK based auto TV show) presenter Jonny Smith, for a challenge against a Dabbawala.

The challenge Nissan set was for Khan and Smith to navigate through the streets in a Sunny to get to a school before a Dabbawala can, on his cycle. Conceptualised in-house at Nissan, the initiative was covered through three short films. Joining the Dabbawala was David Parkinson, head of digital for Africa, Middle East and India at Nissan Motor Corporation.

The films show the journey, which begins at Mumbai's Churchgate Station and moves across South Mumbai before ending at the Bright Start Fellowship International School at  August Kranti Marg. By the time the cricketer and TV host get there with the trophy, the Dabbawala has reached.
