At your Kerovit's end

This film by Crayons Advertising shows Anushka Sharma as a cop raid a bathroom.

Last week, a cop in North India, landed in a hot soup (soups and squirrels, like your Ad Nut, have a hate-hate relationship) for shooting a pre-wedding video starring him and his fiancee. In the video, the cop wearing his official uniform enacts a mock scene of catching his fiancee at a police check-post for what seems like a traffic offence. The lady makes her way out of the difficult situation by putting some currency notes into his khaki pocket. In turn, she ends up leaving the spot after flicking his wallet. All this, rightfully, incensed his seniors in the police force and landed the cop in a messy situation of his own making.

Ad Nut, felt a similar sense of assault on its sensibilities, when it came across this commercial today, that showcases Bollywood star Anushka Sharma play a cop, who gets turned on by bathrooms.

Kerovit, a sanitary ware and bath solutions brand from the house of Kajaria, shows a policewoman, played by Sharma, raiding a house when the family is at the dinner table. Her search dog leads her to the insides of the room. While, there are no skeletons tumbling out of the closet, the bathroom of the household drives the cop nuts, (pardon my obsession with that word) with its glam look and feel.

Is the lady cop 'boweled' over with what she sees inside (the bath-fittings)? Because, she comes out of the bathroom and calls off the raid.

This ad is intended to make Kerovit, a young, fun and stylish brand, say company executives. And the brand Kerovit, is positioned as a 'freedom' brand. Has the freedom of expression been taken a little too far?

The usage of a cop to dig out the inside secrets of your bathroom, seem a little over-the-top to Ad Nut. This is certainly not what secret-squirrel would be proud of.
