ZenithOptimedia has revised its global advertising expenditure forecasts down again after a "worse than expected first half of 2009.”Third quarter forecasts published by Publicis Groupe’s media agency network downgrades its global ad spend figures for 2009 for the third successive time this year, from -8.5% forecast in July to -9.9%. This time last year, ZenithOptimedia expected global ad spend to increase 4% in 2009, despite the anticipated economic downturn.

Nick Waters, chief executive, EMEA for Mindshare is to leave the WPP agency network he helped create in 1998 to become chief executive of Aegis Media Asia-Pacific. Waters is to take over from Patrick Ståhle, currently chief executive of Aegis Media Asia-Pacific, who is to retire from the industry to pursue a non-executive career. Aegis said that both Ståhle’s departure and Waters' arrival "will take effect at the same time in the second quarter in 2010".

The jury first awarded the Press Lions Grand Prix to Ogilvy Mexico for its Scrabble campaign for Mattel.However, moments before last night's awards ceremony was due to take place, organisers disqualified the campaign after realising it was ineligible for the 2010 Festival because it had been entered before.
