In the latest update in the #TRPScam, Mumbai Police has accused Arnab Goswami, editor-in-chief, Republic TV, of paying bribes to the former CEO of BARC India, Partho Dasgupta, to gain an increase in his channel's rating numbers.

This comes after the arrest of Dasgupta last week. Romil Ramgarhia, former COO of BARC, was arrested the week prior.

According to a report by The Indian Express, Dasgupta said that Goswami had met him at least three times, in separate hotels in Mumbai, and made payments worth lakhs in cash, including once in US dollars.

The report added that along with Dasgupta and Ramgarhia, police suspect the involvement of some other former BARC employees too.
