With Javier Mascherano on the verge of leaving Liverpool to join Inter Milan and reuniting with fomer boss Rafa Benitez, Roy Hodgson has stepped up his chase to find his replacement. Thirty year old, Danish midfielder Christian Poulsen seems to be in pole position to be on his way to Anfield with Belgian wonderkid Steven Defour also linked with the role. Loic Remy, another transfer target for Liverpool has been spotted in England. But if the rumour mill is to be believed he will not be joining Hodgson's summer recruits and could instead be heading to join Tony Pulis' Stoke City in a deal close to 10 million pounds. Read the story here

Manchester United target Igor Akinfeev is rumoured to be snubbing a move in order to join fellow Premier League rivals Arsenal. Akinfeev has spoken about his desire to join the club from North London. After all the keeping woes Arsenal suffered last season the Russian should be on Arsene Wenger's transfer list. Also with compatriot Arshavin already at the club, settling in London will be slightly easier for Akinfeev. Read the complete story here.

Newcastle are looking to celebrate their return to the Premier League by entering the race to sign Marseille striker Hatim Ben Arfa. Ben Arfa has previously been linked to top European clubs that include Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and AC Milan. Read more on that here.

Emmanuel Adebayor may not get the chance to run 80 yards and celebrate in front of Arsenal's supporters again as he is linked with a move away from the Premier League side Manchester City to join Juventus.
