Transfer Gossip: Who’s going where in the Barclays Premier League  

Wesley Sneijder has dominated the transfer headlines for the last week, with Manchester United rumoured to be very close to securing a deal for the Dutch playmaker. Some reports over the week suggested the Sir Alex Ferguson was not interested in signing the midfielder, while others suggested, Sneijder was extremely close to a move to Old Trafford. On the basis of all the rumours, Sneijder will be the fourth major signing for the Barclays Premier League champions, following Phil Jones, Ashley Young and David de Gea. Read more here
 
Liverpool seem to have addressed their problem of a winger, by agreeing terms with Aston Villa for a move for Stewart Downing. Downing will need to discuss personal terms and pass a medical with the club from Anfield. Read more here
 
Meanwhile, Cesc Fabregas, Barcelona and Arsenal have completed yet another week in the headlines. Barcelona are not willing to spend the money Arsenal want. Arsene Wenger is not willing to confirm the amount Arsenal want for Fabregas and Fabregas is not willing to commit to Arsenal. Expect this to run right down to the end of August.
