Circulation for rest of Asia and India brought under one head

Suprio Guha Thakurta takes on Apac circulation mandate for The Economist

Suprio Guha Thakurta, managing director, India, will take on the additional responsibility as circulation managing director, Asia-Pacific, The Economist, from 1 April 2013.

Tim Pinnegar, publisher and managing director, Asia Pacific, The Economist Group, said, “While we aim to maintain a strong print circulation in Asia, the migration to digital reading is picking up pace and creating opportunities to reach new audiences and alter our production and distribution costs.”

Currently, the publication has split the management of the circulation business in the region into Asia (except India) and India. “In order to benefit the evaluation of new audiences and the allocation of marketing investment I have decided to bring together the two circulation businesses under one head. Suprio’s strategic skills will be a powerful additive to an already very profitable circulation business in Asia,” added Pinnegar.
