Sports on TV: Watch Leander Paes at the French Open finals

With the FIFA World Cup just a week away,  this weekend offers us a good variety of sporting action to warm up for the carnival.  Its final time at the French Open. With Leander Paes and his partner Lukas Dlouhy into the finals for the double’s event, there’s plenty of interest with the Indian contingent at Roland Garros.  Meanwhile, in the finals for the women’s singles, it’s the seventh seeded, Australian, Samantha Stosur to face the seventeenth seed, Francesca Schiavone from Italy.

With the FIFA World Cup just a week away,  this weekend offers us a good variety of sporting action to warm up for the carnival. 
 
Its final time at the French Open. With Leander Paes and his partner Lukas Dlouhy into the finals for the double’s event, there’s plenty of interest with the Indian contingent at Roland Garros. 
 
Meanwhile, in the finals for the women’s singles, it’s the seventh seeded, Australian, Samantha Stosur to face the seventeenth seed, Francesca Schiavone from Italy. In the men’s event, after Roger Federer’s exit from the Open after his defeat to compatriot Robin Soderling, it’s taunted as Rafael Nadal’s slam to lose. Catch all the action from the French Open from 18:30 hrs onwards on STAR Sports on Saturday and Sunday.
 
In cricket, the underperforming second string Indian team take on Sri Lanka on Saturday, in a do or die encounter for the Indians. A win will take India to the finals of the tri-nation tournament, where as a loss would mean Zimbabwe would qualify at the expense of India. TEN Sports will telecast this game and it’s live from 12:30 hrs on Saturday.
 
Further, England will look to complete a two - nil rout of Bangladesh as the two teams will face each other at Manchester in the second Test of the npower Test series. Catch day two and three live on Saturday and Sunday on STAR Cricket from 15:30 hrs onwards.
 
For the early risers on Saturday, there’s Major League Baseball action. The Atlanta Braves take on the Los Angeles Dodgers. The game begins at 07:30 hrs, live on ESPN.
 

For moto-racing fans, there’s the Italian GP in Mugello.  The race begins at 14:30 hrs on Sunday, live on ESPN.
