Sakal appoints GK Singh as head, North and East Operations

Sakal Media Group has announced the appointment of GK Singh as its head for North & East Operation. He comes from Midday Infomedia Ltd. where he was associate vice president- North.

On Singh's appointment, Gaurish Pathare, head, Ad Sales, Sakal Print said, “We were looking for a leader in our North and East operation as both these markets are growing at rapid rate. North is the market where some of the large advertisers are based. Even there are first time advertisers who are contributing to this growth story. I am sure Singh will take this opportunity to build sustainable relationship with all our business partners like advertisers and agencies, also achieve milestones in that market.”

Singh has an experience of more than 21 years in the media industry. During these years he has the distinction of working on various platforms like Print, TV and digital. Some of the organizations he has worked in the past are Indian Express, Chitralekha, Amar Ujala etc., besides Midday. On television front, he was a part of a group called Multimedia in 1994, where he sold a serial on DD2 called Sarab. In 2001 he was a part of the team that successfully launched the Varanasi edition of Amar Ujala.
