Fintech company Revolut has announced it will become Audi F1 Team’s title partner from the 2026 FIA Formula One Championship season.
The partnership aims to create “new ways” for fans to interact with the sport during race weekends, which will include experiences as well as exclusive benefits to Revolut customers.
Revolut Business will also be integrated into the sport team’s financial operations, and Revolut will power checkout solutions for team merchandise.
Nik Storonsky, chief executive of Revolut, said: “This is a monumental partnership for Revolut and the future Audi F1 Team. We’re accelerating towards 100 million customers, and we’ll be bringing them into Formula One with unforgettable experiences at a pivotal time for the sport.
“As Revolut continues to challenge the status quo in global finance, the future Audi F1 Team is set to do the same in motorsport. With a shared outlook, global ambition and relentless drive for progress, this partnership will define what’s possible in Formula One.”
Revolut, a licensed European bank, now has over 60 million customers globally. It celebrated hitting the 50 million customer milestone last November at London’s Outernet with a headline performance by Charli XCX.
Audi first made plans to join Formula One as a power unit supplier in 2022 in partnership with Sauber Motorsport’s F1 team. Last year, it announced it would fully take over Sauber Group, which will see it becoming Audi F1 Team.
Jonathan Wheatley, team principal of the Audi F1 Team, said: “With Revolut, we have found a true partner that shares our core ethos of innovation and relentless ambition. This is more than a brand fit; it is a strategic alliance engineered to challenge conventions in motorsport.
“From 2026, Revolut’s digital-first solutions will power key areas of our operations while also redefining how fans and communities engage with our team – delivering a seamless and engaging experience on and off the track.”
Gernot Döllner, chief executive of Audi AG and chairman of the board of Sauber Motorsport AG, added: “Audi is entering Formula One with a clear ambition: to use the platform as a technologically relevant and economically sustainable investment in the future of the Audi brand. We firmly believe in the success of our project, which we are approaching with a realistic attitude and a mindset of continuous improvement.
"In Revolut, we have found a partner that shares our ambitions and attitude. Formula One is a global stage that offers us the opportunity to reach new target groups together and generate enthusiasm for our products.”
Sauber is currently sixth among the 10 teams in the constructors' championship ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix this weekend (3 August).
Revolut has worked with Anomaly as its creative agency of record since 2023. Its latest campaign by the shop, “Money possibilities", launched in January.
In March, the fintech company took over a football match between Manchester City Women and Chelsea FC Women, which included a special halftime show featuring “the world’s largest Revolut card”. The takeover was created by Amplify's youth specialist agency Seed.
