Radio City 91.1FM has launched a music portal, Planet Radiocity.com. The portal is targeted at the musically inclined people and music professionals.

The portal allows community building and social networking through music (via Friends of Music). It also supports music and video streaming. The portal features a section 'Artist Space' which provides a platform to new artists to showcase their talent and provides an online 'Musicopedia' with references on anything related to music which the users can update. It provides information on the latest happenings in the world of music through the 'Music Reporter' section. It also features an online karaoke application, a lyrics finder and an application which allows users to create their own radio stations.

The company is promoting the website through the digital medium itself, through content alliances with various partners and through their own radio station. The revenue model is based on ad sales. They have plans to break even in one and a half years.

Apurva Purohit, CEO, Radio City 91.1FM said, "This mega portal is conceived to provide the music industry with a platform where musicians, artists, industry experts and music enthusiasts commune. The website aims at bringing about awareness in the minds of the Indian consumer on various genres and upcoming musicians from across the country." She added, "As this site is focused on social networking through music, the user gets access to his kind of music and can connect with his kind of people."
