Oben Electric marked National Road Safety Month with #SaluteAtSignal, a public initiative recognising the Bengaluru Traffic Police at some of the city’s busiest junctions. Conducted over a week, the campaign sought to redirect commuter attention from congestion to the human effort behind daily traffic management.
Implemented at Sony Signal in Koramangala and Vydehi Signal in Whitefield, the initiative operated during peak hours between 6 pm and 9 pm. Commuters were invited via brief announcements to switch on parking or hazard lights at red signals, refrain from honking and remain stationary for a few seconds. The result was a visible pause at high-pressure intersections.
The campaign highlighted the realities faced by traffic police personnel managing high-density junctions for eight-hour shifts. At Sony Signal, Shanoor Nadaf (PC 15996) from Adugodi Traffic Police Station was recognised for managing close to one lakh vehicles per shift. At Vydehi Signal, Sangamesh Desai (PC 18308) was honoured for overseeing approximately 15,000 vehicles per shift.
Informational boards at each signal detailed the officers’ names, years of service, duty hours and traffic volumes managed. Thousands of commuters engaged with the initiative over the week.
The activation aligns with Oben Electric’s positioning around safety-focused urban mobility. The company designs and manufactures its electric motorcycles at its 3.5-acre Bengaluru facility, with a focus on reliability and safety. With over 85 showrooms across 70+ cities and expansion plans to reach 150 showrooms and service centres by March 2026, Oben Electric continues to extend its brand narrative beyond products to public responsibility.
