Nirvana Films names Vishal Mangalorkar as director

Nirvana Films has appointed Vishal Mangalorkar as a director on their panel and he will be operating out of Nirvana’s Mumbai office starting May 2009.

Mangalorkar previously had his own production house @Infiniti Films, which he has since shut down. Explaining his reasons for joining Nirvana, he said, “I want to concentrate on direction now because that is where my strength lies and I want to build that more strongly. I have worked with Nirvana Films before, so it was my first choice. I know that they will support me in everything I would require.”

Sneha Iype, executive producer, Nirvana Films said, “Vishal has run his own successful production company called @Infiniti Films for the last four years and has directed several popular films. However after much deliberation, he has decided to wind down his operations and focus on directing rather than handling the business end. We respect his decision and are happy to provide him all the support he needs to focus solely on his endeavour to do great work here at Nirvana.”

Mangalorekar has been in the industry for 12 years and has worked with companies like Film Farm and Trends Adfilm makers in the past.
