NEEV Foundation launches nationwide summer relief campaign

NEEV Foundation has rolled out a multi-state summer relief initiative distributing water, ORS and protective supplies amid rising temperatures.

NEEV Foundation has launched its summer relief campaign, ‘Iss Garmi, Farq Nazar Aayega’, aimed at supporting outdoor workers, the general public, stray animals and birds affected by extreme heat conditions across India. The initiative is being implemented across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Maharashtra as temperatures in several regions cross 45°C.

As part of the campaign, the foundation is deploying 60 relief vans across high-footfall public areas and key outdoor work zones. The vans will distribute clean drinking water, ORS pouches and protective caps to people exposed to prolonged outdoor conditions, including traffic police personnel, delivery executives, construction workers, street vendors and autorickshaw drivers.

The campaign communication centres on accessibility and immediate relief during peak summer conditions. NEEV Foundation said the initiative was developed around the idea of bringing relief directly to those most affected by extreme temperatures. Explaining the campaign thought, the foundation stated: “The thirsty always come to the well. This summer, we decided to take the well to the thirsty.”

Alongside human relief efforts, the campaign also addresses the impact of heat on animals and birds. Water tanks for stray animals, bird feeders and water trays have been installed across multiple locations as part of the initiative’s broader welfare outreach.

Vivek Patni, director – Wonder Cement and founder of NEEV Foundation, said, “India’s summers are becoming increasingly harsh for people who spend most of their day outdoors. Through this campaign, we wanted to create immediate, accessible relief for those who keep our cities functioning despite extreme weather conditions. Sometimes the most meaningful interventions are also the simplest, whether it is offering a glass of water, a moment of shade or basic support during difficult conditions.”

Patni added, “NEEV was founded on the belief that social responsibility begins with showing up for people when they need support the most. We hope this campaign also encourages citizens to participate in small acts of care, from keeping water outside homes for birds and stray animals to supporting delivery personnel and outdoor workers during peak summer hours. Collective action often begins with individual awareness. Sometimes, a small beginning brings a big change and starts a revolution.”

The campaign also carries a public participation message, encouraging citizens to contribute through small acts of support during extreme weather conditions. The communication strategy focuses on raising awareness around heat relief while encouraging community-led participation.

The initiative forms part of NEEV Foundation’s wider social development work. Through its Rural Development Centre in Nimbahera, the foundation runs programmes including Hunar for women’s skill development, Sanrachna for infrastructure, Udaan for education, Arogyam for healthcare outreach and Eco Green for sustainability initiatives.

With ‘Iss Garmi, Farq Nazar Aayega’, the organisation aims to highlight how large-scale community-led interventions can provide practical relief during increasingly severe summer conditions across India.
