Nagessh Pannaswami to join Curry-Nation

Nagessh Pannaswami, who was appointed head of BBDO's Mumbai operations in July 2010, has put in his papers at the agency and will be joining Priti Nair's new outfit Curry-Nation as director.
When asked about his decision to join the new agency, Pannaswami said, "Priti and I go a long way back. We worked together at Lowe from 1998-2004 and found we had a fantastic rapport. Our points of view on advertising and our world views of people and work environments are almost the same. When Priti contemplated starting her off her own agency, she asked if I woul like to join, and I thought there was no better opportunity than this."

Speaking about his time at BBDO, he said, "BBDo was unfortunately a short stint of only six months which was mostly a phase of consolidation and creating a team. But it is a fantastic place and Ajai and Josy and fantastic managers."

On what he looks forward to working on at Curry-Nation, Pannaswami said, "We'd like to change certain ways of working and question the old systems. We also believe in the India story, in terms of its rich cultural diversity which offers great opportunities for creative work, and the immense potential of the SME segment that is waiting to be tapped."

Nair said, "I have known him for a long time. We get along really well as people first and I give that top priority in professional working. He is someone I know who will watch my back."
