Must watch on TV: The DLF IPL continues

For the television obsessed who plan to stick to their idiot boxes after the Royal Wedding gets over, there’s plenty of great sporting action awaiting them.

The DLF IPL continues this weekend, with four matches coming our way.

In the first game of the weekend on Saturday, at 16:00 hours, Kochi Tuskers Kerala take on the Delhi Daredevils. This game is followed by the Kolkata Knight Riders taking on the Kings XI Punjab at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. This game begins at 20:00 hours.

On Sunday, at 16:00 hours, Yuvraj Singh’s Pune Warriors travel to Jaipur to take on the Rajasthan Royals. At 20:00 hours, Chennai will take on the Deccan Chargers.

All the matches will be Live on Set MAX.

For football fans there’s the Barclays Premier League on ESPN STAR Sports.

In the big game on Saturday, second placed Chelsea will look to keep the pressure on Manchester United with a victory over fifth placed Tottenham Hotspur. The game kicks off at 22:00 hours, Live on ESPN.

In the other game on Saturday, Aston Villa take on city neighbours West Bromwich Albion at Villa Park. The game will kickoff at 19:30 hours, Live on ESPN.

On Sunday at 16:25 hours, Liverpool will look to keep their hopes for European qualification alive when they play Newcastle United at Anfield. If Chelsea beat Tottenham, a Liverpool victory could push the Merseyside team to fifth place.

If Chelsea beat Tottenham, the impact wouldn’t end there.

At 18:30 hours, third placed Arsenal host first placed Manchester United at The Emirates.  An Arsenal victory here, along with a Chelsea win on Saturday, would make things interesting in the title race.

In the last game of the weekend, Manchester City take on West Ham united at 20:25 hours.

All three games on Sunday are Live on ESPN.
