MIXI brings anime collaboration to STRIKE WORLD

MIXI, Inc. has launched a new anime-led collaboration event for STRIKE WORLD, targeting India’s growing gaming and anime audiences.

MIXI, Inc., the Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed developer of social networking services and mobile games, has announced a new in-game collaboration event for its global mobile RPG, STRIKE WORLD, in India. The campaign-led collaboration introduces content from the Japanese TV anime ‘Shangri-La Frontier’ to the game, aiming to deepen engagement with India’s growing gaming and anime community.

Running from May 8 to May 22, the collaboration integrates characters, themed gameplay and immersive experiences inspired by the anime into the STRIKE WORLD universe. The initiative reflects MIXI’s strategy of combining globally recognised anime properties with interactive gameplay to strengthen player engagement and cultural relevance in key international markets, including India.

The collaboration introduces playable characters from ‘Shangri-La Frontier’, including Sunraku, Arthur Pencilgon and Emul. Each character has been designed with abilities and visual elements that align with their portrayal in the anime, enabling players to explore different gameplay strategies and combat experiences.

As part of the event, players can also challenge two anime-inspired bosses, Wethermon the Tombguard and Lycagon the Nightslayer, in specially designed battle stages. The event format combines themed quests, limited-edition event passes and exclusive in-game rewards to reinforce the crossover experience and extend player interaction during the campaign period.

The collaboration has been positioned as part of MIXI’s wider efforts to build stronger connections with gaming and anime audiences in India through locally relevant engagement initiatives. Alongside the in-game campaign, MIXI, Inc. also participated in Mumbai Comic Con, where the company showcased interactive fan experiences and community-focused activities linked to STRIKE WORLD and anime culture.

Shigeo Ogata, producer of STRIKE WORLD, said, “We are excited to bring this unique anime collaboration to STRIKE WORLD players in India. This event represents our continued efforts to create engaging and memorable experiences by blending anime that is popular both in Japan and overseas with our interactive gameplay. We look forward to seeing players explore new strategies and experience this collaboration.”

The collaboration forms part of MIXI’s broader positioning strategy within the mobile gaming market, where anime partnerships continue to serve as a key driver for audience acquisition and retention. By integrating well-known Japanese entertainment properties into gameplay experiences, the company aims to create campaigns that appeal to both gaming and anime fan communities.

MIXI stated that additional collaborations with other popular anime titles are planned in the future as the company expands its gaming ecosystem and entertainment partnerships globally.

Further updates related to the collaboration will be shared through the official STRIKE WORLD website and the brand’s Instagram channel.
