Millward Brown has appointed Surekha Poddar as managing director of its Mumbai operations. Poddar will report to the Prasun Babu, managing director, South Asia. She replaces Muder Chiba who decided to leave the company to pursue other interests.
In a career spanning 20 years, Poddar has also worked with Nielsen India, Bharti Airtel, IMRB and AIMS. This is her second stint with Millward Brown. She had earlier worked in the Singapore office as regional director.
On her appointment, Poddar said, “I am very excited to have the opportunity to lead such a talented group of researchers and to represent a world leader in consumer insights in the Mumbai marketplace. The company works with some of the most respected brands in the region helping them to maximise their marketing investments so it’s a perfect fit given my passion for marketing, brand building and consumer insight”.
