McCann Erickson wins creative duties for History channel

AETN-18 (a joint venture between A & E Networks and TV 18) has awarded its creative mandate for the soon-to-be-launched HISTORY channel in India to McCann Erickson. McCann Erickson won the account following a multi-agency pitch.

HISTORY channel is the world leader in factual entertainment and McCann Erickson will work on the launch communication strategy for HISTORY channel in India.

Commenting on the development, Ajay Chacko, president, A+E Networks I TV18 JV, said, “History has always been associated with the past, but with the new History channel, we hope to change people's perception of History. The channel today is contemporary. It is also about action, thrill and adventure as much as it is about events and people that have shaped our lives.
