Maruti Suzuki India puts CSR account on pitch

The automaker wants the chosen agency to develop multi-platform content on its CSR initiatives.

Automobile major Maruti Suzuki India has called for an advertising pitch for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) mandate.

Sources close to the development have shared with Campaign that the company has met several agencies to understand their ideas and the pitch is currently underway at its New Delhi headquarters.

The brief to the competing agencies included their presentation of a concept on Maruti’s CSR initiatives while the mandate will have the chosen partner work on developing multi-platform content around automaker’s activities for social impact.

Campaign also learnt that the pitch features Maruti’s roster agencies such as Dentsu India, Hakuhodo India as well as VML India, which isn't serving the brand presently.

Campaign has reached out to Maruti Suzuki India to confirm this news, but has not yet received a response.

Maruti Suzuki India is a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan and is amongst the top passenger car makers in the country with a portfolio of 16 car models and 150 variants. The entity was formerly known as Maruti Udyog Ltd and incorporated as a joint venture between the Government of India and Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, in 1981.

The company deploys road safety, skill and community development programs as part of its CSR projects that are aligned with social development priorities of the nation. Recently, Cath Lab facility at Zydus Sitapur Hospital in Gujarat, a full-funded CSR initiative of Maruti Suzuki completed one year of operations. It provides advanced cardiac care facility and ensures critical care access to nearly 400 villages of the state.
