Huace partners utopai to scale ai storytelling

Huace Film & TV partners with Utopai Studios to integrate AI-led cinematic storytelling into long-form content creation and global distribution workflows.

Huace Film & TV Co. Ltd. has partnered with Utopai Studios to deploy its cinematic storytelling AI system, PAI, as the core engine for long-form narrative creation. The collaboration signals a shift towards AI-integrated production models within large-scale media and entertainment businesses.

Under the agreement, Huace has committed to extensive annual usage of PAI across its production operations, alongside a usage-based revenue-sharing arrangement. The partnership supports Utopai Studios’ international expansion while enabling Huace to scale content development, creative iteration and global localisation across its portfolio.

PAI, developed specifically for the entertainment industry, is designed to support end-to-end storytelling workflows. Unlike conventional AI tools focused on short-form outputs or fragmented editing solutions, the system is trained on cinematic language and narrative continuity. This allows it to assist in long-form content creation, from early development stages through to final production delivery.

Huace’s decision follows an evaluation of AI models available in the market, with the company prioritising platforms capable of supporting narrative depth, creative control and continuity. The need for integrated solutions reflects a broader shift in the industry, where studios are seeking AI systems that align with professional production standards rather than standalone generation tools.

Zhao Yifang, founder and chairwoman, Huace Group, said: "Huace approached this opportunity with a clear view of what matters for a media company building for the future. We looked closely at the available models in the market and were not looking for a generation tool alone. We wanted a platform that could better support narrative quality, creative control, continuity and real production workflows from development through delivery. PAI stood out in that regard. Its long-form capabilities, end-to-end value and professional orientation made Utopai Studios the right partner for us. Our decision to work with Utopai reflects the power of PAI and the value of technology designed for long-form creative workflows."

Huace brings significant scale to the partnership, with a business spanning film and television development, production and distribution. Its content is distributed across more than 200 countries and regions, with a presence on over 20 international platforms including Netflix and YouTube. The company also holds one of the world’s largest TV IP libraries, creating opportunities for AI-driven adaptation and content repurposing at scale.

Recent updates to PAI include the introduction of three-minute 4K video generation and advanced multi-shot sequencing capabilities. These features are designed to maintain consistency across scenes and enhance the quality of long-form outputs, positioning the platform as a tool for cinematic-grade production rather than experimental use.

The partnership reflects a growing trend of AI integration in filmmaking and content marketing, where scalability and efficiency are balanced with narrative integrity. For global studios managing extensive IP libraries, such systems offer the potential to streamline workflows, accelerate production timelines and enable localisation across diverse markets.

By combining Huace’s content scale with Utopai’s AI capabilities, the collaboration aims to redefine how long-form storytelling is developed and delivered. The move underscores an industry-wide transition towards technology-enabled creativity, where AI functions as a collaborative partner in the content creation process.
