Hansa Entertainment names Sujatha Narayanan as CEO

Newly formed Hansa Entertainment outlines a multi-format content strategy alongside leadership appointment to scale storytelling across platforms and languages.

Hansa Entertainment Private Limited has appointed Sujatha Narayanan as chief executive officer, as the newly incorporated content production company outlines its strategy to build a multi-format, multi-language storytelling business.

The company has been established to develop and produce original programming across digital, television, OTT platforms and theatrical features. Building on the legacy of Hansa Vision, Hansa Entertainment will focus on content production across formats including short-running series, long-running series and original films for OTT, alongside theatrical ventures. Its approach is positioned around mobile-first audiences, shorter formats and multi-platform consumption, combining legacy storytelling with data-led insights and platform understanding.

As part of its content and distribution ecosystem, the company will launch a podcast platform titled ‘Hansa Spotlight’ and develop ‘Hansa Originals’ for the vertical drama format. Initial content production will span six languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali and Kannada, signalling a regional and national scale strategy.

The company has been founded by Sruti Swamy and Siddharth Swamy, who bring creative and analytical capabilities respectively. Sruti Swamy’s background includes design and business management, while Siddharth Swamy contributes expertise in data science, audience behaviour and platform analytics. Their combined focus reflects a broader industry shift towards integrating storytelling with audience intelligence and measurable engagement.

Srinivasan K. Swamy, executive chairman of R K Swamy Hansa Group, said, “The launch of Hansa Entertainment marks an exciting new chapter, as it is expected to evolve into a multi-format production house that speaks the language of the modern viewer while staying true to our roots. The new entity is the brainchild of the next generation and will be independently managed by Ms. Sruti Swamy who is the Director and the newly appointed CEO. Unlike, R K Swamy Hansa which is in the business of providing Integrated Marketing Services, Hansa Entertainment will focus on creating OTT films, Series and Vertical dramas.”

Sruti Swamy said, “I am happy to announce that Ms. Sujatha Narayanan has been appointed as the CEO of Hansa Entertainment. Sujatha has over two decades of experience in creative content curation and production, spanning various formats including Film & OTT. She is also a well-known film columnist & has been a media entrepreneur producing key campaigns for leading brands. She brings significant film industry goodwill across various markets that will help us deliver engaging productions across formats and languages.”

She added, “I am very optimistic about the future of Hansa Entertainment, given the content explosion and the opportunities offered by new technologies for production. This is further compounded by the evolving ways in which content is getting consumed by us today. We will certainly enjoy the journey ahead and we want to ensure that our productions are a delight to watch and enjoy as well.”

Siddharth Swamy said, “The idea is to grow a contemporary production house that creates compelling stories for today’s multi-platform audiences, while drawing inspiration from the rich storytelling traditions that audiences have appreciated over the years. We are known for our integrity and consumer insight, and Hansa Entertainment will carry this torch forward, blending that rich insight with cutting-edge storytelling for a digital-first era.”

Narayanan added, “I am glad to be a part of Hansa Entertainment which already has a strong goodwill in the industry, thanks to the pioneering work done by the group entity Hansa Vision. Hansa Entertainment will evolve as a story-first, IP driven entity. We have already put together a smart team of interesting and dynamic creators who will helm our vertical dramas, shows and films. Our stories will be selected with a keen ear-to-the-ground approach, while keeping an eye for the best aesthetic and filmmaking sensibilities. The core team at Hansa Entertainment has both industry veterans and new age talent, which will ensure that our offering to OTT platforms, theatrical productions and branded vertical dramas promises to be engaging and entertaining.”

The legacy of Hansa Vision includes over 4,000 hours of television programming, early adoption of five-day soap formats in Tamil television and distribution of landmark content across Indian networks. This heritage informs Hansa Entertainment’s positioning as an IP-driven production house aligned with evolving content consumption patterns and brand-led storytelling opportunities.
