Direct-to-Home (DTH) satellite television provider Dish TV Group has entered into a partnership with Amazon Prime to offer Prime Lite benefits to eligible customers across its entire ecosystem.

Dish TV Group partners with Amazon Prime to offer Prime Lite benefits

Announced on Tuesday, this collaboration will be for all the group's platforms including its DTH services (Dish TV and D2H), the Watcho streaming platform, VZY (Vibe, Zone, and You) Smart TVs, and ISP partner networks.

"At Prime Video, our goal is to continuously enhance how customers across India discover and enjoy entertainment, across our extensive slate of Indian and international Originals, movies, and series. Collaborating with Dish TV Group enables us to widen that reach even further, while also giving customers access to the added shopping and shipping value of Prime Lite, like free unlimited Same-Day/Next-Day delivery on eligible offers, and early access to shopping events like Prime Day and more,” said Shilangi Mukherji, director & head of SVOD Business, Prime Video, India.

This means that Dish TV users will now be able to get access to Prime Video’s content library (Originals, movies, series) on a single device in HD quality, under the Prime Lite starter pack.

"Partnering with Amazon Prime, renowned for its vast library of movies, series, and acclaimed Originals worldwide, strengthens our commitment to delivering world-class entertainment experiences across every screen. With this integration, we are bringing premium content, and cutting-edge technology together to make entertainment truly effortless and enjoyable for every Indian home," said Manoj Dobhal, CEO and Executive Director of Dish TV India Limited, in a statement.

Additionally, these users will get free unlimited Same-Day/Next-Day delivery on eligible offers, and early access to shopping events like Prime Day.

However, the availability varies depending on the kind of Dish TV Group member a user is. All Dish TV DTH customers will get access to Prime's content library through DTH & Watcho bundled multi-OTT plans. Similarly, VZY Smart TV customers will get Prime Lite included with the purchase of the TV. Watcho OTT customers will have the Prime Lite as an add-on subscription. Finally, ISP partners will get access to the content library as a part of bundled broadband plans.

Dish TVs in-house OTT platform, Watcho, currently hosts over 24 popular OTT apps with original, regional and international premium content. The Group currently boasts a vast distribution network of over 2,334 distributors and 158,000+ dealers across 9,500 towns.
