Dish TV India Ltd. has announced an expanded South India-focused offering centred on regional language entertainment, affordable pricing and uninterrupted viewing experiences for households across the region.
The company said the enhanced proposition has been developed in response to evolving consumer viewing habits and strong regional language preferences across Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam-speaking markets.
As part of the rollout, Dish TV has introduced regional language-led channel packs starting at INR 149 per month. The packs combine entertainment, movies, sports and regional programming designed specifically for South Indian audiences.
According to the company, the South Indian television market continues to remain one of the country’s most engaged entertainment ecosystems, where viewing preferences are closely linked to regional cinema, family entertainment and local storytelling formats.
Dish TV said its revised offering aims to simplify content access while providing greater convenience and continuity for viewers seeking personalised regional entertainment experiences.
The base package includes more than 225 channels, including over 36 Tamil-language channels. Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam-focused packs each feature more than 30 channels curated around regional household viewing preferences.
The company stated that the packs are designed to provide flexibility while allowing consumers to customise channel selections according to individual language and entertainment preferences.
Alongside the language-focused strategy, Dish TV has also introduced a new ‘Sports Always-On’ feature. The functionality is intended to ensure viewers can continue accessing major sporting content even during temporary recharge gaps or service interruptions.
According to the company, the feature has been developed around everyday consumer viewing behaviour and is aimed at delivering a more seamless television experience for sports audiences.
Manoj Dobhal, ceo and executive director, Dish TV India Ltd., said, “South India has always been an extremely important market for Dish TV, shaped by strong language preferences, deep-rooted entertainment culture, and highly engaged family viewing habits. With our new packs starting at INR 149, our focus is to make quality entertainment more accessible and more aligned with how consumers across the region watch television today without worrying about missing action due to recharge gaps or temporary disruptions. Our broader focus remains on making entertainment simpler, more seamless, and consistently connected entertainment experience across their favourite content in their preferred language.”
Sukhpreet Singh, chief revenue officer, Dish TV India Ltd., added, “Consumers today are looking for value, convenience, and entertainment experiences that reflect their language and viewing preferences. Our enhanced South India offering has been designed around these insights — combining affordability, strong regional content choices, and uninterrupted access into a single consumer-first proposition. The idea is to make everyday entertainment simpler and more accessible for households across the region.”
The company said the initiative forms part of its broader long-term regional strategy focused on personalised and language-led entertainment experiences.
The latest move also reflects increasing competition among broadcast and DTH players to deepen engagement through hyper-local content strategies, regional language programming and customised consumer offerings across India’s television markets.
