Dentsu Creative Webchutney appoints eight national creative directors

Dentsu Creative Webchutney (DCW) has announced the setting up of a national creative leadership team by roping in talented and experienced creative professionals from the industry.

The agency has appointed eight national creative directors (NCDs) across three regions. They will report to Surjo Dutt, chief creative officer of Dentsu Creative Webchutney (DCW).

Ajeet Shukla and Giamaria Fernandes have been appointed in the West, while Arijit Sengupta and Mark Flory have been inducted in the South. DCW has appointed four creative directors for North. They are Romit Nair, Moumita Pal, Abhijeet Ray, and Manzoor Alam.

Surjo Dutt, CCO, Dentsu Creative Webchutney, said, “Do It Yourself is a brutally simple, brilliantly effective, and often forgotten aspect of creative leadership. Leaders need to lead by example. We want our leaders to not just guide, strategise, and build client relationships, but also create landmark advertising themselves. This approach helps establish creativity benchmarks and raise creative standards exponentially.”

DCW has more than 80 clients in India and it operates with a team of over 400 professionals across different roles. The new leadership structure, the agency hopes, will be “more hands-on, more involved, and more fearless”. According to DCW, “creativity isn’t just directed—it’s actively created, refined, and lived at every level.”

By spreading the leadership roles across regions, the agency is trying to embrace, what it terms as a Do it Yourself (DIY) philosophy to its creative business. According to Dutt, the new national creative directors not just talk about creativity but live it.

Amit Wadhwa, CEO—South Asia, Dentsu Creative, said, “Creativity has no boundaries, but insight is always anchored in local context. At Dentsu Creative, we create spaces where ideas flow freely, while execution remains rooted in what truly resonates with people.”

Part of Dentsu Creative India, Dentsu Creative Webchutney was established as an independent unit in 2023 along with Isobar. The agency specialises in creative advertising and digital marketing, among other areas of expertise. Some of its recent customer wins include Godrej Professional and Gemini Edibles.

Meanwhile, Dentsu India has appointed two senior professionals to lead its customer experience management (CXM) business. It has appointed Devang Shah as chief business officer for consumer, industrials and commerce and Hemant Kshirsagar as the chief business officer for financial services and fint

Devang Shah (L) and Hemant Kshirsagar (R)ech.

Kshirsagar will lead financial services while employing his digital strategy expertise. Leading the non-BFSI business, Shah will manage client relations and oversee business expansion in the luxury and jewellery industries.
