Compass Communications has been appointed the official communications partner for Guwahati-based non profit Foundation for Culture, Arts and Literature (FOCAL). The mandate marks the start of a collaboration focused on strengthening the visibility and outreach of the organisation’s cultural initiatives and events.
As part of the partnership, Compass Communications supported one of FOCAL’s flagship initiatives, the Dibrugarh University International Literature Festival (DUILF), organised in collaboration with Dibrugarh University. The festival recently concluded its third edition and has emerged as a platform connecting global literary voices with the cultural landscape of Northeast India.
Compass Communications worked on promoting the four-day festival, positioning it as a celebration of literature, ideas and cultural dialogue. The event brought together more than 150 writers, poets and thinkers from 25 countries. The line-up included internationally recognised figures such as Ann Morgan and Maria Reimondez, alongside Indian personalities including film director Jahnu Barua, ex-Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane and former Foreign Secretary Krishnan Srinivasan.
The festival attracted nearly 12,000 literary enthusiasts, continuing the growth trajectory established over its previous editions. Through its communications support, the agency focused on amplifying the festival’s cultural significance while increasing awareness of the platform among audiences interested in literature and intellectual exchange.
Rahul Jain, curator and chief coordinator, DUILF, said, “DUILF has grown into a meaningful cultural platform that brings global literary conversations to the Northeast, especially for young readers and students. We were delighted to collaborate with Compass Communications to further strengthen DUILF’s voice and reach and now look forward to working with them on our numerous initiatives for the Foundation.”
Rohan Srinivasan, co-founder, Compass Communications, said, “DUILF was an important cultural event that places Northeast India firmly on the global literary map and we were glad to be part of it. We are now excited to partner with the FOCAL team and look forward to amplifying their numerous initiatives and events.”
Compass Communications was co-founded by Rohan Srinivasan and Rafi Q Khan and manages a portfolio of more than a dozen national and international clients across sectors including BFSI, automotive, technology, education, executive search, luxury, consumer tech, real estate and healthcare. The agency works with clients across Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Kolkata and Chennai.
The agency has also worked with Red FM on initiatives such as the Rider’s Music Festival and South Side Story. More recently, Compass Communications supported the promotion of the 7th edition of Udaipur Tales, which was held in January.
With the FOCAL mandate, Compass Communications will focus on building communications strategies that highlight the foundation’s cultural programmes, events and initiatives, while strengthening its engagement with audiences interested in literature, arts and cultural dialogue.
