80 dB Communications secures Smytten PR mandate

The mandate focuses on amplifying visibility and shaping brand narrative as Smytten strengthens its positioning in consumer intelligence and experiential discovery.

80 dB Communications has been appointed as the communications partner for Smytten, marking a strategic move to strengthen the platform’s brand visibility and corporate reputation. The mandate will see the agency drive awareness around Smytten’s differentiated positioning at the intersection of experiential discovery and AI-led consumer intelligence.

As part of the engagement, 80 dB Communications will work to amplify Smytten’s narrative across traditional, digital and social channels. The focus will be on highlighting the platform’s ability to combine product discovery, retail and data-led insights, enabling brands to engage more meaningfully with consumers. The partnership also aims to build stronger recognition for Smytten’s approach to real-world behaviour-led research.

Smytten operates as an experiential and consumer intelligence platform, offering product trials and discovery at scale across categories including fragrances, beauty and makeup, male grooming, food and beverages, baby and mother care, and health and wellness. With over 2,500 brand partners, the platform positions itself as a bridge between consumer experience and actionable data.

Central to its proposition is Smytten PulseAI, an AI-powered consumer intelligence solution that translates real consumer behaviour into insights for brands. The platform is designed to support decision-making across customer acquisition, product development and business growth, aligning with the increasing demand for data-driven marketing strategies.

Swagat Sarangi, co-founder, Smytten, said, “At Smytten, we are building an ecosystem where real consumer experiences drive real intelligence. While our platform enables discovery at scale, Smytten PulseAI transforms this behaviour into faster, smarter, and more actionable insights for brands. As we enter our next phase of growth, we are partnering with 80 dB Communications to shape and amplify our narrative as we define a new category at the intersection of discovery and intelligence.”

The mandate reflects a growing emphasis on integrating reputation management with business storytelling, particularly in emerging technology-led categories. The role of 80 dB Communications will involve positioning Smytten as a category leader while communicating the relevance of AI-driven insights in modern marketing ecosystems.

Abhilasha Padhy, co-founder and joint managing director, 80 dB Communications, said, "Consumer discovery and real behaviour data are reshaping how brands connect with their audiences. Smytten is at the forefront of this shift, and we are excited to partner with them in amplifying their story, especially their leadership in AI-driven research through Smytten PulseAI, helping brands make smarter decisions and create impactful experiences at scale."

Founded in 2015, 80 dB Communications operates as an integrated reputation management advisory, offering services across media relations, digital strategy and social communications. Headquartered in Gurugram, the agency works with a mix of established companies and startups, and has received multiple industry recognitions, including IPRCCA 2020 Rising Agency of the Year and IMAGEXX awards.

Smytten, built by former Unilever and Google executives Siddhartha Nangia and Swagat Sarangi, continues to expand its ecosystem that combines online and offline experiences with data intelligence. Through this mandate, both companies aim to align communications strategy with evolving marketing needs, where experiential engagement and measurable insights play a central role.
