24 Hours with Tribal DDB's Reilly Rebello

Name: Reilly Rebello

Job: Associate creative director – Tribal DDB

Professional mission: To create and help create digital creative work that’s amongst the best in the world.
Personal mantra: You’ll get another job. But you won’t get another family.

5:30am
Drag myself out of bed after hitting ‘snooze’ thrice.

6:00am

Sweat it out at the local ground and wonder why the hell would someone get up at 6 am in themorning to bloody laugh at the top of their voices. Doctor Asthana, are you listening?

7:00am
Gobble down my scrambled eggs, baked beans, sausages, toast and tea. Talk about the day ahead with wifey.

8:00am
Run for the bus.

8:45am
Run for the train. Get into an argument with an old man for taking over 2 millimeters of his sacred space. It takes experience to understand the comforts of the fourth seat.

10:00am
Reach office. Run to swipe in. (fail)

10:01am
Lie about being out for a meeting.

10:30am
Get e-mails out of the way, plan the flow of jobs with the team and start a fight on Facebook. Start doodling and scribbling in my recycled paper notepad.

1:00 pm
Some office lunch. And if I’m really lucky some beer. Make that lots of it.

3:00pm
Check out what’s happening in the world of design, digital, advertising, Formula 1, hockey and the Simpsons. (It’s surprising how much Twitter helps in this case) What next? Pass it on and discuss it with the team. Check on the Facebook fight and add a few more gallons of fuel to the fire.

4:00pm
Convince clients that digital is not the next big thing. It already is.

7:00pm
Back to office. Listen to a few more ideas. Bounce a few more ideas. Brainstorm with the team (which I think is the best in India).

9:00pm
Start thinking if the day was well spent. If not, back to scribbling and doodling and some more scribbling, all while sipping on beer.

10:00pm
Dread the hour long journey in a dirty, packed local train. Head home anyway.

11:00pm
A huge mug of beer, steaming hot home cooked food and some good conversation with wifey.

12:00am
Day nears an end, but something’s still amiss. A rerun of FRIENDS, followed by mindless racing games. Awesomeness.

1:00am
Laugh my ass off to sleep.
