Bates' Rajeev Raja to head creative at DDB Mudra

Rajeev Raja, executive creative director, Bates 141 has put in his papers. He is moving on to DDB Mudra, where he will be joining as creative head. Raja whose advertising career has spanned over 20 years has had two separate stints at Mudra previously and terms the move as a "homecoming" of sorts.
"I am delighted to be partnering J.Mani (president and head, DDB Mudra) and look forward to working with him, we go back a long way.  I had a great meeting with Bobby (Pawar) and have known Madhukar (Kamath) for a long time and I can only say that I am looking forward to this new partnership. DDB as an agency has always been highly respected internationally and Mudra is a homegrown agency with strong ethnic roots. It is a perfect mix of global and Indian and fitted in with what I had in mind," said Raja.
"We were looking for a partner who could help raise the bar further at DDB Mudra. We value Rajeev's skillsets as a creative and loved his work on Virgin Mobile. To be able to stay current in today's day is a great trait and Rajeev has it," said Bobby Pawar, chief creative officer, Mudra Group.
Raja began his career with Clarion, an agency he quit when he became associate creative director to join Mudra as creative supervisor. He later shifted back to Clarion, and then became creative director at Mudra again. He later moved on to Bates 141, where he has quit as executive creative director.  Raja will be serving out his notice period at Bates till the end of October and will take up his new role in Mudra in November.
