Walls talk again as Asian Paints brings back familiar hues

The company revisits its iconic ‘Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai’ with a modern spin, spotlighting how today’s homes tell their stories differently.

Asian Paints reopens the doors to one of its most iconic campaigns, Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai, with a refreshed lens for today’s evolving homes and relationships. With warm narration and nuanced storytelling, the new film speaks volumes, drawing viewers into the quiet, unspoken stories and subtle imprints every family leaves behind.

The campaign offers a glimpse into the evolving world of Indian homes, portraying them as lively, welcoming spaces shaped by the people who live in them. It celebrates how families and individuals bring their own touches through creativity, togetherness and personal expression, making every corner feel unique. Each room tells its own story, reflecting not just how a home looks, but how it feels to live in it.

The TVC adds a fresh, modern lens to the idea of what makes a home, while staying true to the beloved Har Ghar poetry that plays gently in the background, bridging the familiar with the new. Through playful storytelling and thoughtfully curated visuals, the film brings to life eight different stories, showcasing the many ways people inhabit and personalise their homes.  From a young couple adding personal touches to their walls including keeping a faux pas, to a budding food vlogger transforming his kitchen into a studio with his grandmother cheering him on; an elderly couple hosting a guest from a foreign country with heartfelt hospitality, and a pet parent giving their pet the family name, every story captures everyday moments that makes a house a home.

At the core of the film lies a thought that lingers long after it ends, har ghar chup-chaap se yeh kehta hai, ki andar isme kaun rehta hai (Every house quietly reveals who resides within). It’s a gentle reminder that the true essence of a home is more than just walls and roofs; it resides in the people who live there, their emotions, routines and cherished memories.

Speaking about the refreshed campaign, Amit Syngle, managing director and CEO, Asian Paints said, “With this new chapter of Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai, we’re celebrating the evolving nature of Indian homes and the unique ways families bring them alive. Homes today are more dynamic, more expressive, and more personal than ever before. Through this campaign, we want to showcase how every corner of a home carries meaning whether through creativity, individuality, or shared experiences and continues to reflect the people who live within it. This film showcases homes as dynamic spaces of identity, creativity, and connection.”

Piyush Pandey, chief advisor at Ogilvy India, reflected on the evolution of the platform, “Homes have always spoken, what's beautiful now is how they’re starting new conversations. This new chapter of Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai captures today’s lives with honesty, humour, and heart. It reminds us that while the world around us changes, the emotions we build our homes with remain timeless.”

Campaign’s take: Two decades on, Asian Paints has reopened the doors to its most resonant address, Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai. The refreshed campaign doesn’t just retouch nostalgia; it repaints it with contemporary strokes that reflect how Indian homes, and the people within them, have evolved.

This year’s film takes a walk through everyday domestic dramas: a sneeze-turned-wall-design that becomes a quirky keepsake, a food vlogger’s grandmother playing cheerleader as he films in the kitchen, an elderly couple’s warmth spilling over in hospitality to a foreign guest, and a pet parent officially christening their dog a family member. Each vignette reminds viewers that while décor trends change, the emotional grammar of home remains familiar, which is spontaneous, messy, and deeply personal.

By portraying homes as living canvases of creativity, connection, and character, the campaign deftly bridges sentiment with self-expression. This is also a timely move as Diwali season paints the country afresh.

Yet, the question lingers: beyond metros, are rural homeowners equally keen on making bold, personal statements, or do they still prefer safer, neutral tones?

With this revival, Asian Paints once again captures the emotional palette of India’s homes, proving that some stories, like certain shades, never fade.
