Pass your time in lockdown by staring through someone else's window

Creative duo creates website to peek through windows from the South of France to South India — and remember what it was like to travel.

Two Singapore-based creatives got bored of looking out the same window everyday, so they created a 'window swap' to peek at other people's views from around the world.

The website, which works best on a full-screen desktop, launches with a button to click through to 'Open a new window somewhere else in the world'. Users can then cycle between 10-minute video recordings of views in India, Argentina, France, UK, Colombia, Sweden, Singapore, Thailand and more.

'Window Swap' is a side project by husband and wife team Sonali Ranjit and Vaishnav Balasubramaniam, who work at BLKJ and Leo Burnett in Singapore.

"My husband Vaishnav and I created this little project called to help beat our lockdown blues," explained Ranjit. "Because, let's face it, it's going to be a while before we travel again, and wake up to a new view outside our windows. So until then, why not voyeuristically travel by looking out of somebody else's window for a while?"

"We hope this way of 'travelling without moving’ will give the world as much joy as it has given us," she added.

The website is still open for entries: just email qunaliaa@gmail.com. Or simply enjoy the view.
