Sandeep Sharma to head R K Swamy Media Group

R K Swamy Media Group has announced the appointment of Sandeep Sharma as president of the group. He will be taking over from Chintamani Rao, who is moving into another role in the company.

Prior to this new role, Sharma was senior vice president, marketing and sales at Times Global Broadcasting.

Speaking about the change of leadership, Shekar Swamy, group chief executive officer, R K Swamy Hansa, said, “We are delighted to have Sandeep lead this group. Our media service has seen very good growth over the past year. It serves the needs of over 75 advertisers across the country, delivering tremendous results to them. Sandeep’s mandate is to build on the quality of the service, even as he helps the group to engage wider and deeper with leading advertisers.”

Commenting on the development, Rao said, “We have done a lot in the last couple of years. R K Swamy Media Group is now poised to play the game at the next level, and I look forward to Sandeep leading that charge. I am pulling back just a bit, to give myself time to do some of the things I want to do.”

On his new assignment, Sharma added, “R K Swamy Media group has a great set of clients and a high quality team across offices. I am excited to build further on the excellent work done so far and aggressively grow the business while retaining our focus on best quality service and superior media solutions to our clients.”

In a career spanning 22 years, Sharma has been in senior leadership roles in revenue, brand and key client relationship management across media, advertising and brand management. In his previous assignment at Times Global Broadcasting, he was part of the start-up team of Times Now and ET Now.
