RS Sodhi to join Reliance Industries

Reports state that Sodhi will help Reliance Retail Ventures grow in the Indian grocery space, with a focus on fruits and vegetables

RS Sodhi to join Reliance Industries
Reliance Industries (RIL) has decided to bring in RS Sodhi, former managing director, Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), according to media reports.

GCMMF houses all its milk products under the popular brand Amul.

Reports state that Sodhi will help Reliance Retail Ventures grow in the Indian grocery space, with a focus on fruits and vegetables. He will also be tasked with strengthening the company’s presence in consumer brands.

The move is part of the company’s effort to expand the presence of its FMCG arm.

Sodhi joined GCMMF in 1982 as senior sales executive and then became managing director of the dairy sector in June 2010. He spent 41 years at the company, before he stepped down from the position in January this year.

Reports also suggest that neither Sodhi nor Reliance Retail have confirmed the news.
