Mudra appoints Anurag Gupta

Mudra Group has appointed Anurag Gupta (pictured) as president – strategic initiatives and integration. His appointment comes into effect from July 10. In his new role, Gupta’s mandate will be to take the group into events, sports, rural and retail marketing. He will also work very closely with the group’s newly appointed COO Pratap Bose and the senior management of the agency’s SBUs. Gupta’s previous stint was as President of Ogilvy Action.

With stints in Grey, Lowe, Unilever, Draft Worldwide East Africa and Ogilvy Action, Gupta has over 12 years of marketing and brand management experience. He was with Ogilvy Action for the last four years.

Gupta’s departure from Ogilvy is the latest in a long list of departures from the agency. Recent senior level exits from the WPP owned agency include Krishna Mohan, JC Giri, Pratap Bose and  Meenakshi Bhalla besides Gupta himself.
