Law & Kenneth strengthens leadership with new hires

Law & Kenneth has made three senior-level appointments.

Rana Barua has joined as chief operating officer - West and South. In his previous assignment, Barua was chief operating officer, Red FM.

Barua said, "I was clear that my stint with radio was getting limited with expansion plans miles away. And my understanding and exposure to the ever evolving media space over the last six years made me realise that my expertise would come in best with the changing Indian advertising and communication solutions environment. I was blown by Praveen when we met, his dreams, way of working, vision and what he expected out of me. And then Anil Nair - Senior, an amazing professional who patiently showed me the picture of a rock solid agency. Undoubtedly Law and Kenneth is one of the fastest growing agencies which is a true believer of building brands in the country and my mandate is to be a catalyst and a partner in this growth."

Amardeep Singh has been appointed chief creative officer, North and East, a role vacated by Anirban Sen. Singh had co-founded Hammer Communications last year. He has also been with Law & Kenneth in an earlier stint.

He said, "In my new role, I’m looking forward to creating sound communication solutions that make brands visible. I am also keen to work towards creating an inspiring work environment at the agency’s Delhi and Kolkata offices. Also, one of my key agendas is to raise the creative bar further up in both the zones assigned to me."

The third recruitment is that of Samir Datar as senior vice president - strategic planning. His last assignment was as head - strategy planning and client servicing at GIIR Communications.

Datar said, "“I believe that Law & Kenneth is the most exciting and challenging place to be right now and I look forward to contributing my bit to the excitement.”

Commenting on all the appointments, Anil Nair, chief executive officer and managing partner, said, "We needed senior people with immense experience of managing brands across categories, beyond the key managing partners of the company, for our clients to feel the benefit."

While Barua and Singh have joined the agency already, Datar is expected to join on 20 August.
