Uttam Nayak (pictured) has been appointed country manager for South Asia for Visa. He succeeds Santanu Mukherjee, who was recently appointed Visa’s regional head of Innovation and Technology and is now based in Singapore.

He was previously the country manager of India.
David Lee, regional president, Asia Pacific region, Visa commented on his appointment, “With a growing middle class numbering in hundreds of millions, South Asia presents a unique environment and opportunity for the electronic payments industry. Some opportunities will come from South Asia being a hub for innovation and technology development for Visa that already includes products such as Visa Bill Pay, mobile payments and Visa Prepaid. Uttam has been instrumental in the growth of the business in India having been with the company for the last 13 years, and we believe his deep experience and expertise will help him drive business growth for Visa in the South Asia region.”
