Starcom MediaVest Group has named Sriram Sharma (pictured) as general manager for their Bangalore office. He takes over the post after the departure of Ashwini Kamat, who is relocating to Mumbai for personal reasons.

Talking about the new developments, Sandeep Lakhina, COO, South Asia, Starcom Worldwide, said, “Ashwini is relocating to Mumbai as her family is moving there. She has been with the agency for the last eight years and has headed the Bangalore office for almost two years now. We are extremely proud of the work that she has done till date and sad that she is parting ways with the agency.”

Talking about Sharma’s appointment, Lakhina said, “Sriram takes over from Ashwini and has come on board as general manager for the Bangalore office. He has the capability, the experience and the required skill sets for the job. He has worked out of Bangalore for years and is a core local resource for driving the business out of the city. We expect to double our revenues out of the Bangalore office in the next few years and we are confident that Sriram will be instrumental in that growth.”

Sharma has close to 14 years of experience in the industry. Previous to Starcom, he was with OnMobile Global. He has previously worked at Maxus, Bangalore, Initiative Media, Hughes Software Systems and McCann Erickson.
