Nissan Motor India marked Children’s Day with ‘Nissan Little Champs’, a nationwide programme held across Nissan service centres for children of existing Nissan owners. Designed for participants aged 10 to 15 years, the initiative introduced 1,304 children to automotive concepts through interactive and age-appropriate sessions. The event aimed to nurture curiosity and inspire young automotive enthusiasts by offering a structured and engaging experience inside dealership environments.
Saurabh Vatsa, managing director, Nissan Motor India, said the company seeks to encourage learning at an early age and designed the initiative to give children a safe, guided exposure to the world of Nissan cars. He added that the programme was intended to blend experiential learning with enjoyment while strengthening the brand’s connection with Nissan families.
The day opened with registration followed by three modules. The first session, ‘Do You Know?’, provided a hands-on introduction to car basics, explaining engines, brakes and tyres through simple visual aids. The second session, ‘Know Your Nissan’, familiarised participants with car safety tools, Nissan’s innovation journey and key facts illustrating the brand’s global legacy. The final session, ‘Walk Around’, included a supervised tour of the workshop and the Nissan Magnite, enabling children to observe inspection bays, paint booths and service processes while reinforcing themes of safety and teamwork.
The programme concluded with a short ceremony where each child received a certificate and a Nissan-branded goodie. Dealerships hosted up to 20 children each, with parents present throughout to ensure a safe experience.
The initiative aligns with Nissan Motor India’s broader focus on child welfare. The company’s CSR efforts have included supporting 290 free cleft surgeries in collaboration with Smile Train India during FY23 and partnering with The Akshaya Patra Foundation to provide over 50 lakh mid-day meals to 49,000 government school children across 300 schools in 2023. These initiatives reinforce Nissan’s commitment to healthcare, nutrition and experiential learning for children.
