Monday Morning Gloom Buster

WATCH some of the best wedding TVCs from around the world to mark The Royal Wedding

Monday Morning Gloom Buster

We're not quite done with The Royal Wedding just yet. Here are some of the best wedding TVCs we could find to celebrate William and Kate's big day that happened on Friday, April 29.

Rewind to 1999, Spanish agency FCB/ Tapsa created this hilarious TVC for Carlsberg. Two men lament a mutual friend's situation in a somber mood, reminiscing that they'll never get to hear his laughter again at parties and wondering why such a thing had to happen to their mate. The elements and dialogue point to a funeral, but as it turns out, it's actually a wedding...

'Planning a wedding can be a mental challenge. Don't let the invites push you over the edge'  provides the punchline in this TVC produced by Gartner/ Santa Monica for Gartner Studios in the US. What seems to be a beautiful bride rehearsing for the most special day of her life turns out to be just a regular day at the loony bin.

First aired during the Superbowl in 2007, DDB Chicago gives us wedding ceremony that would certainly merit a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest in the world. Two groomsmen are salivating at the thought of a Bud Light spread at the buffet table. While one dreads the long wedding ceremony up ahead, his friend has already taken matters into his own hands.

Publicis Hong Kong adds an Asian flavour to the top 10 with its wedding TVC for the Tempo brand of tissues. In line with tradition, bridesmaids fight it out for the bouquet, but it turns out one of them is much happier with her prize.

During a wedding reception, two guys have a chat and air their doubts about a female guest wearing a white dress. Unknown to them, the woman's father overhears their conversation and promptly confronts them. Luckily, chocolate bar Twix is there to save the day and offer a 'moment' for the guy to compose himself and blurt out a clever response.

An ill-timed yawn is all it takes to create an awkward situation and ruin a wedding, as shown in this  TVC for Pepsi Diet Max. Creative agency BBDO New York are the brains behind the ad showcasing how the product can help you avoid a similar predicament during your big day.

It's always interesting to hear what the best man has to say during his wedding toast and the stories he has to share about the couple. Unfortunately, the best man in this wedding doesn't get that far in this ad by Saatchi & Saatchi New York featuring Miller Genuine Draft beer from the US.

Talk about your unconventional weddings. With the tagline 'committed for life', this TVC from Puma may only be for those fit enough to endure a strenuous run throughout an entire wedding ceremony. Hats off to them if they were still able to look their best in the after-wedding photos.

Finally, we have yet another unconventional wedding from Ogilvy & Mather Vietnam for Sony 3D TV. A nicely animated TVC featuring a mouse wedding provides a different perspective on the event, and as always, there's the mischievous cat looking to rain in on the parade.
